The J. Allen Axson PTA is a membership organization. We encourage all parents and teachers to join. We organize fundraising events such as Boosterthon and Fall Festival. We host teacher appreciation luncheons, coordinate vision and hearing screenings for students, and holds parent and volunteer social events. We work side by side with FAME, which provides additional funding for paraprofessionals at our school.
Where does the money go?
The funds raised by the PTA go directly to support the students at J. Allen Axson.  Here are some recent examples:
Grounds and Facilities:  2019 was an exciting year for us!  We had  been planning a shade structure over the basketball courts for several years and were able to implement this spring!
Teaching Tools: We provide teaching tools requested by teachers.  We have purchased the online Accelerated Reading and Reflex Math programs as well as Time for Kids and Storyworks.
Event Support: The PTA also assists with our spring events, providing free books for each child at the Voracious Readers reading celebration and drinks and snacks for Mile Maker.
